Thoughts While Meditating or The Runaway Mind (12/11/94)
Although I know I am nothing, at least spiritually,
The ego refuses to be subdued.
As one can see, these lines are subjective
And yet, one can only express what one sees, hears or experiences subjectively.
One is unable to express the feelings of others without walking in their shoes.
If only one could be truly objective and “put on hold” feelings and wasted emotions,
Then perhaps one’s vision of reality would be enhanced.
One could walk on the razor’s edge and not feel the pain.
Who was the saint, was it Paul, who said, “What I would I do not and what I do I would not”?
Oh mind, be still.
